Superstructure design

Superstructure design covers the above-ground structural elements that make a building stand up, perform safely and coordinate with the architecture and services.

JMS designs steel, concrete, masonry, timber and hybrid structures for new buildings, extensions and refurbishment projects, selecting systems that suit the span, use, budget and construction method.

The team considers vertical loads, lateral stability, movement, robustness, fire strategy interfaces, acoustic or vibration constraints, buildability and connection design requirements.

Outputs include calculations, drawings, framing layouts, member sizes, design notes and coordination advice for approval and construction.
