Sutton in the Elms Baptist Church

JMS implemented advanced structural engineering techniques in the extension and refurbishment of Sutton in the Elms Baptist Church- Leicestershire’s oldest church.

The project required reinforcing the existing structure to support new additions, including multi-use rooms and improved access for all. Energy efficiency was enhanced by integrating advanced thermal fabric and structurally optimised heating systems, reducing long-term operational costs.

To preserve the church’s historical integrity, JMS carefully blended the new construction with the original structure, using specialised methods that respected the building’s heritage while meeting modern safety standards. The church’s historical character remained intact while providing necessary updates for its growing congregation.
